    500 Germans on Assad intelligence records since 1960s: NDR

    (Zaman Al Wasl)-  At least 500 German citizens and since five decades have been on a secret intelligence list by Syrian regime were many faced entry ban and arrest warrants, leading NDR radio network showed.

    In association with Zaman al-Wasl, the examined documents of 1.7 million documents showed that hundreds of Germans, including artists, politicians ,diplomats, journalists were under severe scrutiny during their visit to Syria.

    The leaked archive includes records by the beginning of 2015 of people from more than 150 nations. It dates back to the 1960s. The list of German, French and British nationals is available to the NDR's Investigative Department. In addition to diplomats, military or ordinary students, they also include Middle Eastern correspondents from international media from the US and Europe.

     The Iron state of Bashar al-Assad, father and son, made the security services its upper hand to oppress Syrians people and even the foreigners.
     
    A ward-winning photographer and documentary director, Marcel Mettelsiefen, was also among those who banned from Syria's entry over vising Syrian and accompanying a family in her escape journey from war-torn Aleppo to Berlin.

    With his documentary "Watani - My Homeland" he was nominated for the Oscar. The film is about a family from Aleppo, which manages to escape from the civil war in her Syrian homeland to Germany. The filmmaker accompanied the family Aleppo to Germany with the camera.

    The Syrian military intelligence issued ban warrant against Mettelsiefen, according to a secret search list of the regime, which the NDR has evaluated with Zaman al-Wasl.
