Plastic Gas in besieged Ghouta: risk and necessity

(Zaman Al Wasl TV)- The footage may seem taken from a historical documentary about the suffering of coal miners, but the fact is that it reflects part of the consequences of the blockade imposed by Assad regime on Eastern Ghouta.

The people in Ghouta adapted to the blockade by adopting the most primitive ways of living including the extraction of gas from plastic as an alternative to natural gas after they extracted of gasoline and diesel from the same source.

The goal is to provide the needs of the local population of gas after the price of natural gas jar rocked to 60000 SP. This alternative gas is sold at relatively reasonable prices on average of 1000 SP. However, there is a big risk for workers in this field, but the necessity rules the risks.

The blockade enters its fifth year on civilians in the Damascene countryside where populations consumed all their raw materials to produce their harmful and necessary fuel necessary for daily life in the light of the inability of the International Community to force the Russians, Iranians and the Assad regime to stop their crimes and lift the blockade.
