3 Tiger militants killed in Abu Zuhour battles: activists

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Three senior officers operating in the Tiger elite forces killed by rebels in Abu Zuhour air base in the northwestern province of Idlib, activists said on Friday.

A rebel command task said they foiled regime attack on Abu Zuhour base, leaving more than 50 troops dead.

Recapturing the Abu Zuhour air base, which the rebels took in 2015, has been one of the main targets of a major regime offensive into Idlib that began in late October.

The slain officers were fighting under the command of Suhail al-Hassan, once of Syria’s most notorious commanders who recently gained the praise of the Russian President Vladimir Putin for his 'bravery'.
