Syrian asylum seeker turned homeless in France as refugee ORG dumped her

(Writing by Faris al-Rifai; Translation by Yusra Ahmed)

Samah Abo Baker, a Palestinian from Syria and former journalist in “Alikhbaria” the regime's news TV, sought asylum in France a year ago, but now, she is at brink of being thrown in street because “KAD” organisation let her down and stopped supporting her in staying in the shared accommodation she was forced to stay in for almost a year.

Samah found no option but to sit-in at the centre of Asylum seekers in Paris to deliver her message and anger of the situation. She silently held a board saying: "have you brought us to die here? It would’ve been better if you let us die there”.

Samah was arrested by the Syrian in 2014, after releasing her, she went to Lebanon, then was granted a “VISA” to France, on condition to provide her accommodation.

When she arrived, she was surprised to discover that she needed to stay in a small room lacked internet, within a shared accommodation with many families and people of different nationalities, and talking different languages. Even the bathroom and kitchen were shared.

Samah told Zaman Al Wasl that on 9-October she was told by phone that she needed to leave the share accommodation by 14-October, and on 12-October she was informed that she needed to meet a member from KAD to receive her file in order to disconnect her connection with the organisation.

Samah explained that the KAD’s member was suppressive, insensitive and patronising, even she denied the fact that she was promised of accommodation before being granted the VISA. "Even she told me that if I don't like France as an asylum country, I can leave to another country"
Samah’s problem has not finished yet, but at least KAD changed its decision and kept her in the accommodation for some days, till she find an accommodation.
