(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Army of Conquest took control of a village in northern countryside of Hama city after heavy clashes with Syrian regime troops and their allies, rebel commander told Zaman al Wasl on Wednesday.
Abu Khaled, member in Ajnad al-Sham's media center, said Fatah Army, or the Army of Conquest, an alliance of Islamist groups have taken control of Skaik village north of Hama after fierce fight with forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad, dozens of them were killed and wounded, he added.
The regime army and fighters from Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah have launched a series of ground offensives against rebel-held areas of western and northwestern Syria since Russia began air strikes in the country on Sept. 30.
At least 120,000 people have been displaced since early October in the Syrian governorates of Aleppo, Hama and Idlib, the United Nations said on Monday, more than doubling an earlier estimate of 50,000.
