Syria's opposition Bureau in London has restricted its activities according funding problems, the National Coalition envoy to Britain said .
Mr. Waleed Saffour revealed in a private message, obtained by Eqtsad, Coalition secretariat Mr. Hadi al-Bahra that all political and media activities were limited due to lack of money and funding.
''The political, logistic and media plans have been going on at the minimum level in London office as long as there is no financial spending,'' Saffour said.
London's envoy
has demanded the coalition to pay the expenses and salaries for the previous
eight months.
“We have been
struggling for nine months to secure an office, to make it as a base for
official work and meetings, however, unfortunately, no one interested in
achieving this” Saffour explained.
In clarifying the
bad situation of the bureau, Saffour has written, ''The lack of fund and
communication channel prevented doing many activities such as holding a press
conference, seminar, printing posters and media materials.”
The coalition
representative confirmed that the new headquarter has not communicated with
London office since the latest selection of the President and the Secretary
General of the coalition, and he did not received any reply for many messages
to Secretary-General Dr. Bader Jamoos, till he had to speak firmly: “I expected
you to reply, and we, in London office, do not have direct contact with
coalition leadership and I repeatedly demanded hotline, and a clear
reference."
He added that
"British officials noticed the shortage of support and activities of
London office.
In a related
context, Saffour pointed that London office has several activities in Britain
to illustrate facts about chemical massacre in Ghout that killed 1,500
civilians, most of them children and women, such as the distributing a message
on behalf of the Coalition to British parliament to explain the attack as well
as to respond to the allegations of MP "George Galloway" London
office coordinated with other to sit-in on Thursday in front of the U.S.
embassy and the other in front of the British Cabinet on Saturday, and to hold
a funeral ceremony for the martyrs.
