(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syria's al Qaeda offshoot, the Nusra Front, backed by rebel factions on Monday has thwarted regime attack on Tal Hadya town in the southern countryside of Aleppo province.
Zaman Al Wasl reporter said rebels and jihadist groups have inflicted heavy losses on regime troops and their Shiite allies in Tal Hadya town.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah war correspondent, Fadi Yassin, was killed while covering battles of Aleppo, Syria's state news agency Monday reported.
Nusra said on Saturday it had captured three Lebanese Hezbollah fighters in northern Syria including Yassin.
Scores of Hezbollah fighters have been killed battling rebels on behalf of Bashar al Assad, but relatively few have been taken captive.
The Assad army has been making a major push, with Russian air support and Iranian military on the northern and southern countryside of Aleppo since early October.
