Emad Zuhair Ghreiwati, surprisingly was wanted by the the military intelligence, and political security and was banned from travelling, despite his loyalty to the regime.
Ghriwati was the Head of the Chamber of Industry in Damascus city and countryside, and partner with Isam Anboba in Cement productions, beside his shares in Zien factory for wood production, and he was the exclusive agent for Kia and Ford motors and Cable production.
After resigning from his position as a Head of the Industry Chamber, he lived in Dubai, then he was accused of smuggling Billions of US dollars from Syria to Dubai.
In 2014, the Syrian media considered Ghriwati as a disappeared businessman and announced the amount of debts his company had which reached to 850 million Syrian pounds, 94 million of them to BEMO bank “the Saudi French Bank”, although Ghriwati company is still working in Syria with many contracts with the public sector are still going.
Ghriwati started paying his debts to the Syrian regime, not banks, as support to the National Defence Forces. Moreover, the customs had seized all the properties and assets of the "Engineering and Commercial company" in Damascus which owned by sons of Zuhair Ghriwati to secure rights of the Public treasury.
