Activist Abed al-Ali reported a flood of dozens of civilian fled from areas controlled by the Islamic State to Mabroka town, but the PYD’s barriers prevented them from entering the border areas, as many of them were heading toward Turkey or Hasaka to join their families.
Al-Ali explained that closing the road leading to regime-controlled areas in Hasaka province has forced people to take a long route to reach to the city at very high cost, and Mabroha town has become a connection point after resuming fights and Islamic State prevented vehicles taking the main streets.
PYD’s members claimed that their demands of a sponsor to let people enter their areas was just preventive security procedures to prevent people supportive to the Islamic State from entering their areas, in the same time, Self-management is demanding aid from the humanitarian agencies to support those people who run away from the Islamic State areas to Deir Ezzor.
after a few- day visit to Aleppo countryside, I was forced to stay days in Mabroka school waiting for a sponsor to be allowed to return to my home in Khabour area”, Abu Ahmed Safarani said to Zaman al-Wasl.
Safarani explained that 500 displaced people, mainly women and children came from Nineveh city in Iraq, were forced to stay in a camp against their wish, most of them requested just crossing to Iraq Kurdistan.
Other people from A-Raqqa and Dier-Ezzor were forced to stay in schools in abandoned houses, and more tents are getting prepared for more, while they wait to get permissions and sponsors from the popular councils of the Kurdish self-management to let them stay at their relatives in the city after leaving the camp, according to Safarani.
Heavy clashes covered Eastern Syria on Sunday as the Islamic State had reinforced control of Deir Ezzor city amid news about abductions and civilian casualties, after a counter-attack on the north-western suburb of Balighia on Saturday evening, killing 18 regime soldiers and abducting several families, that forced civilians to flee the city, according to sources on the ground.
The attack came despite a four-month Russian air strikes claimed they would defeat the militants, and more than a year of strikes by a US-led coalition against the jihadists in Syria.
Kurdish Self-Management Forces was announced in January 2014 and seized control over some regions in north and east of Syria (Efrin, Ain-Alarab and al-Jazira).
