Leaked personal data of Paris Attacks suspect Mohamed Belkaid

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Zaman al-Wasl has obtained the leaked ISIS personal data of Mohamed Belkaid, an ISIS affiliate and newly Paris Attacks suspect, who was killed last Tuesday during a counterterrorism raid in Belgium.

The Algerian candy maker, 35, who was based in Sweden, had entered Syria on April 2014 from Tel Abyad border crossing northeastern Syria, heading the Islamic State’s de facto capital, al-Raqqa, according to the leaked data.

The registration form that issued by the General Directorate of Borders showed that Belkaid had chosen ‘Abu Abdul Aziz al-Jazairi’ as a nickname and a suicide bomber as purpose for joining the ultra-hardline group.

Zaman al-Wasl has collaborated with the Belgium official TV (VRT) by providing documents and data related to the Belgian and French jihadists, including Belkaid's document.

The jihadist who cross the Islamic State's borders for the first time is ought to acknowledge the Borders Directorate everything about himself, even what he wants to be: a suicide bomber, a martyr, a fighter, or an administrative worker. And many of the people who join the Islamic State as administrative workers have degrees in engineering, computers and many strong majors.

The documents, which obtained by Zaman al-Wasl last December and issued between 2013-2014, had the word "secret" at the bottom, while on the top it had the name "Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant," or ISIL, on one top corner and the "General Directorate of Borders" on the other.

Belkaid, who was in Belgium illegally, tried to open fire on police officers and was shot and killed by a special-forces sniper, Eric van der Sijpt, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor’s office, said last Wednesday.

The raid took place around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at a building on the Rue du Dries in the Forest section of Brussels. Six police officers — four Belgian and two French — went to the building as part of the investigation into the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris and in St.-Denis, France.

Belkaid’s roommate in Belgium, Salah Abdeslam, the most-wanted fugitive from November's Paris attacks was arrested after a shootout with police in Brussels on Friday, the Belgian federal prosecutor's office said.

Belgian police had found fingerprints belonging to Abdeslam at the scene of Belkaid’s apartment that raided on Tuesday, prosecutors said earlier. (With agencies)
