(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Syria regime's air force has transported 6 Aero L-39 Albatros aircraft which belong to the Air Force Academy. The number of Albatros aircrafts reached 8 in Tifour Airport. The airport previously had only two crafts of this type, military source told Zaman al-Wasl.
The Syrian regime used these aircrafts in the night operations in Palmyra and later on in al-Qaryatain. The regime currently is using the aircrafts to strike the Syrian desert, also known as Badiyet al-Sham..
The regime has formed a squadron of eight Aero L-39 and 20 pilots from the Air Force Academy under the leadership Colonel Yousef al-Hasan, originally from Homs. The pilots are situation in the first squadron building in Tifour Airport, the military source told Zaman al-Wasl.
The military source added that Korean experts equipped the aircraft with a device to detect GBS locations in the rear and night camera black and white in the front to strike land targets installed on the striking device in the aircraft.
The aircraft has good fighting specifications and high maneuver. It has a low sound and small mass. Hence, it would be difficult to detect the aircraft at night by rebel factions.
