Rights advocates say no to drag conflict into displaced camps in Aleppo

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A child was killed and five injured in a bomb attack in Tarmaneen Camp in northern countryside of Aleppo on Sunday, local activists said.

The bombs, likely handmade, caused a fire in several tents, according to the activists.

Syrian Civil Defense (SCD) Directorate in Aleppo province confirmed sending rescue teams to the camp to treat the inured and put out the fire. SCD added the cause of the explosion is still unknown.

Syrian Association for Refugee Rights spokesperson Mudar al-Assad in a statement to Zaman al-Wasl, demanded the civil administration of Idlib province and officials responsible for running displaced camps to ban entry of any weapons to the camps. The displaced should be spared political and army disputes.

The Syrian camps should not be put in a situation like the Palestinian camps in Lebanon in order to protect them from terrorist attacks.
Al-Assad added that Tarmaneen has 6 camps. Each camp has a capacity of hosting 80 to 150 families. The living conditions are very bad and it needs medical and social facilities.

At least two were killed and nine injured by a mortar shelled by Kurdish People’s Protection Unit (PYD) in al-Tanmiye camp in Atma Camp complex near Turkish borders, according to activists in the camp.
