Al-youm al-Sabe'a newspaper (The seventh Day) , which managed to get an exclusive access to records for Hosni Mubarak, the ousted Egyptian President, continued publishing these records, in some of them, Mubarak commented on what has been happening in Syria.
In a reply to a question about Omar Solaiman, and if he was killed
in Syria, Mubarak said that Solaiman had never been to Syria and he went to UAE
because he was threatened by Muslim
Brotherhood, as he was considered the black box, according to Mubarak.
Mubarak added sarcastically: “Morsi who should go to Syria to die
there” then he expressed his surprise for Morci’s act when he called for Jihad
in one of his speeches saying: “is there anybody on earth stands in a stadium
and call for jihad, no one does it”
In the same context, Mubarak mentioned that Russian President
Vladimir Putin said in a television interview that Bashar would stay as a
president for longer than Morsi and he (means Morsi) would leave soon.
Many were surprised to hear Mubarak speaking in this positive way
about Bashar, as they were know to be in continuous discord and disagreement.
Moreover, Mubarak used to consider Bashar inexperienced, and must have consulted
who were older than him.
Mubarak was known also of
inciting the Egyptian media to launch campaigns against Bashar reaching to a
limit of debasing the value of Bashar, especially after July 2006 war when
Bashar described some of the Arab leaders, including Mubarak as "half -
men."
In response, Bashar returned the debt to Mubarak, at 25th January
revolution, where the Syrian regime media showed exceptional interest in that
revolution, and even the Syrian national
TV cut its broadcast the moment of Mubarak’s fall and announced loudly: “the fall of Camp David
regime” in a reference to the so-called peace agreement between Sadat and Tel
Aviv, which Mubarak reinforced it and committed to all its provisions throughout
the period of his presidency spanned nearly 30 years .
Analysts think the indirect support Mubarak expressed toward
Bashar was incited by their common enemy: Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood
in particular.
