(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Disaster of the EgyptAir jet that crashed with 66 people abroad in the Mediterranean last Thursday has become a matter of global public matter in regard to the causes of the crash, as till now, nothing can rule out any hypothesis, starting from the technical failure reaching to an act of terrorism".
Airplane accidents are identified as: “emergency situation resulted from damage or hazardous coincidences experienced by the aircraft during taking off or landing or flying which lead to discontinuing of the trip or crashing of the aircraft”.
Planes accidents have 4 degrees:
The first is the most dangerous degree leads to the death of all passengers and crew beside crashing the aircraft.
In the second degree, the accident leads to serious damages in the aircraft can only be repaired by the manufacturer, adding to injuries of passengers but no death.
The third degree incident leads to damages in the plane but they can be repaired by the investors and insurance companies, while passenger injuries are minor.
The fourth degree called a pre-incidence of aircraft, which can lead to serious accident if the fault was not corrected or avoided.
According to the science o aviation, there are four main sections for causes of aircraft accidents:
1- Poor manufacturing of the aircraft,
2- Technicians and experts mistakes in preparation, maintenance and regular check of the plane.
3- Mistakes of the plane crew on board
4- and finally unexpected weather conditions.
In applying those theory explanations on the Egyptian aircraft, we find that the plane was one of the best types of aircraft produced in the world with great fame of Airbus 320.
Moreover, preparing the aircraft for flight was done in France, one of the most powerful countries in the field of aircraft industry. The pilot of the airplane has very good experience at 6,000 hours of flight. In regard to weather conditions and atmosphere, the plane was flying at a height of 3600 feet (12 kilometer), in the layer of "stratosphere" which is stable and far from the magnetic storms and almost zero chance to meet migrating bird.
Having excluded most possible causes, still most possible assumption: An act of terrorism, like explosion resulted from planting timed explosive device, or using bombs. If that assumption was correct, it points out to a huge gap in security procedures in Egyptian and French civil aircraft which needs detailed and sensitive security investigations to find out how breach of all the security measures was done.
The second hypothesis it that the plane was hit with an anti-aircraft missile, as the plane was crashed in a very tensed area with many sides and countries have anti-aircraft missiles and military bases for Russia, and England, France, Germany, as well as Syria and Israel.
There are indicators in favour of a sudden incident happened within very short time that prevented the pilot and the crew from contacting any airport. The aircraft had fallen vertically, although it was at height of 12 km, but still it was able to fly more than 100 km even if both engines were damaged. Besides that, the vertical fall indicates that the plane lost a significant part of its body like a wing or the tail.
The EgyptAir 804 landed at a depth of 3 km in the Mediterranean sea, which hardens the task of finding the two black boxes, which are the clue for what had happened. Till then, all options still open to explain whether the plane crashed spontaneously of intentionally.
