(Zaman Al Wasl)- The war on al-Fallujah is complicated and holds particular symbolism, on the surface a war of trickery controlled by excuses and an ideological and sectarian war when read between the lines.
It is a righteous war where the nullification of right is wanted, a righteous war in that it is against the terrorism of the Islamic State that transgresses continents, and the nullification of right in it is the investment of the Popular Mobilization Forces militia and Iranian militias in the war as a sectarian situation for a more humiliating war – at least- on the narrow level of the sectarian.
From the first moments the Iraqi government was helpless to neutralize the Popular Mobilization Forces militia and put the Iraqi army forward in this battle. The issue did not stop there but Iraq went towards more religious political subordination by enlisting the aid of the “master of sectarianism”, the leader of Quds Forces in the Iranian revolutionary guard General Qasem Suleiman to supervise the 17 militia’s in their onslaught on al-Fallujah.
The Mobilization Forces and sectarians did not lessen their sectarian high, and the picture of the Saudi Shiite religious cleric, who Saudi Arabia executed under charges of terrorism, Nimr al-Nimr were placed on the death launchers shelling civilians. The picture of a Hezbollah leader who was recently killed in Damascus, Mustafa Badr al-Din were placed on the assault vehicles for these to be the headlines of the war on al-Fallujah.
The region was suffering from political setups and today we are drinking the poison of sectarian setups.
This color of sectarianism entrenches the sectarian distribution--- and with all honesty--- it makes likely the solidarity of a large section of Sunnis with the Islamic state… given the situation has become one of Sunni and Shiite… and what is more dangerous in the matter, is for the Sunni consciousness to go towards the Islamic state in the shadow of the continued Shiite mobilization from Pakistan, Afghanistan to Iran and Iraq and the rest.
Information indicates that al-Fallujah is at this point empty of any Islamic State presence, prior to the start of the military campaign against the besieged city. According to information from the United Nations there are around 50 thousand civilians besieged inside the city who have been prevented from receiving humanitarian aid for fear the aid would go to the Islamic State.
Between the two sides, one pole is the Islamic State and the other pole the Popular Mobilization Forces and whoever wove its turban, the smell of sectarianism exudes from the area with each missile and with each person slain from either side.
Shiite militias seek every day to show their massacres as a holy war against terrorism. Under this broad slogan the bacteria of extremism grow and is magnified, and it takes lead in the sectarian traffic without any international or regional deterrents.
The question is if Hadi al-Amiri is the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces and is meeting with Suliymani to organize the battle… what will bring Nouri al-Maliki supporting the sectarian army?
