(Zaman Al Wasl)- No Rebel faction on Syrian soil has paid as much of a price from its leaders’ blood as the Islamist Ahrar al-Sham movement did. Many leaders of the movement have been killed in a series of assassinations which stir many questions of the big infiltration in the movement and the lack of security in a movement that has been distinguished militarily speaking.
Our topic is not the number of the leaders that movement paid on the aisle of fabricated and unknown assassination, nor it is about the continuation of these assassinations without anyone stopping it or finding its perpetrators. We will talk about the quality of the assassinations that has been targeting Ahrar al-Sham in significant places.
Why Ahrar al-Sham commanders favorite target for assailants The assassinations targeted experienced and devoted leaders working for the revolution. It is hard to come to terms that the movement is deserving of these or any movement that fights tyranny and whose fighters spend their days on war fronts under bombings.

Since 9 September 2014 and following the biggest and most dangerous assassination targeting a movement fighting Assad regime. Tens of influential figures in the movement were killed in one strike and since then the movement has been losing more experienced and devoted leaders to the revolution who do not establish truces nor compromise.
The last of the painful assassination for the movement was hours ago when 3 influential figures in the movement; Abu Ibrahim, Abu Abdullah, and Abu al-Faruq. These nom du guerre might hint these killed were only ordinary personnel or ordinary fighters in the movement. However, if we look at their history and their work especially Abu al-Faruq, we can see the loss of Ahrar al-Sham is big and that its security apparatus keeps disappointing whoever hopes to put an end to these assassinations or minimize the painful strikes in quantity and quality.
Ahrar al-Sham lost Abu al-Faruq a man from the golden circle in manufacturing explosives. He is also the brother and the student of the movement engineer who first made explosives the leader Musa al-Badawi, known as Abu Ayman Ram killed in Ram Hamdan explosion on 9 September 2014.
Abu al-Faruq or Hashem Badawi was personnel in Syrian regime army when the revolution started. He did not stay long in the regime army since his brother is one of the fiercest opposes of the regime and is counted among the first who took up arms against the regime.
Abu al-Faruq defected from regime army, but was not received well even by his brother. He was received in prison and was interrogated under recommendation of his brother to make sure he was not involved in spill of Syrian blood during his service in regime army.
A major loss
When Abu Ayman, known for his security measures, made sure his brother was not involved in any criminal act against Syrians and that he defected to defend the oppressed, he let him join the trainees circle to manufacture explosives. His brother trained him until he became an expert like his brother.
The stress of the work affected Abu al-Faruq’s health and he was suffering from severe back pain; however, he continued to work in the workshops of manufacturing subordinate to Ahrar al-Sham movement until he was killed.
If the loss of Abu al-Faruq is a new strike for the movement, his loss is very big for his mother who lost her fourth son. The movement felt this double loss since it could not take sufficient security measures to avoid this loss. A very big loss just hours after head of manufacturing unit Abu Khalil Talmans in explosion in Idlib countryside.
There is not enough information about the circumstances and details of the assassination of Abu Faruq, but there are hints saying the three Ahrar al-Sham figures were killed in a mine planted by Islamic State personnel.
Abu al-Faruq deepens an open scar still since his brother Abu Ayman was assassinated. His brother who held a degree in agricultural engineering and was arrested and detained by the regime twice.
Abu Ayman from Ram Hamdan was killed of 36 of age after he participated in the foundation of Ahrar al-Sham brigades and developed its military work against Syrian regime and Isis. He participated in liberation of huge areas in the Syrian north especially in Idlib Province.
