Badr Jamooss,
Secretary-General for opposition Syrian coalition denied what Reuters reported
about Ahmed Jarba's, the president of opposition Syrian coalition, agreement to
go to Geneva2 conference on condition of formation a transitional government
with the regime. He added that Reuters presented only a part of Jarba's
statement.
In his statement
to Zaman Alwasl, Jamoos continued
Saying: "going to Geneva2 is only a part of the political solution adopted
by the Coalition, we are not against
going to Geneva provided it bases on rules and regulations set out by the coalition
in its rules of procedure which insists on regime's departure with all its part
and who involved in crimes against Syrian people".
He stressed that
going to Geneva is not up to Jarba to decide even the coalition political body
cannot take that decision, Syrian people only who can decide to do that,
because they suffered the worst massacre in modern history by regime forces.
The secretary
general stressed that he contacted Jarba in person and he confirmed to him that
Reuters statement of his talk was not complete.
He added that
Jarba's letter to the United Nations issued by the Presidency of the coalition
two days ago has had a clear message and was not a secret on the Syrian people,
in which the coalition called to speed the international process dealing with
the Syrian crisis to stop the daily killing off Syrian people.
On the other hand
Dr. Kamal al-Labwani, a member of the political coalition, in his talk to Zaman
Alwasl stressed that who goes to Geneva 2
will face criminal charges of helping a criminal to escape from
punishment beside a charge of dealing with Iranian occupier as well as a charge
of stealing the Syrian Revolution.
He pointed out
that the coalition agreement states that political solution to begin with Assad's
departure and putting him to trial, and dismantles its regime, not negotiating
with him for a transitional government.
Al-Labwani
stressed that anyone goes to Geneva 2 without these minimum limits would be
seen as receiving orders from abroad.
Two days ago,
Reuters reported that the president of the opposition Syrian Coalition, Ahmad
Jarba, would attend a proposed Geneva conference to end two and a half years of
conflict in Syria if it aims to establish a transitional government with full
powers.
Reuters considered that statement to be the first clear commitment by coalition to attend the proposed conference sponsored by the United States and Russia, especially after the hesitation of attendance following the chemical weapons attack on August 21 that killed more than a thousand people.
