(Eqtsad)- Bodies responsible in Liberated Daraa council of the Interim government, carry on process of selling wheat harvest within a annual plan for this year.
Head of the agricultural office of Liberated Daraa council, Engineer Nazih Kadah reported that amount of Wheat sold since the beginning of this season has reached to 2500 tonnes out of 15000 tonnes, the planned amount, conforming that the council is ready to buy the whole expected amount of 20 thousand tonnes by support of seeds corporation, Assistance Coordination Unit and Directorate of seed multiplication.
The engineer mentioned in his talk to Eqtsad correspondent that the responsible bodies buy wheat at SYP 15 higher than the regime’s bodies, while marketing to and from stores are busy working in all areas, while the price of one tonnes reached to $245 after raising it many times.
Kadah mentioned that it is planned to buy all the amount of wheat and not letting any amount to be sold in regime’s areas that tries to seduce the farmers by many incentives. Confirming that only small amount of wheat was sold to regime from the liberated areas, and suspected the figures mentioned in regime’s media.
the engineer confirmed that lots of difficulties face the process of marketing grains and wheat and the most important: “fear of targeting the wheat store by the regime or buying wheat by regime’s supporters or some times buying grain to use it as fodder for animals”. To avoid these risks, the council circulated warning to all barriers to prevent any amount of grain to reach to regime’s areas, in the same time, it prevented mills from grinding grain and use them as fodder.
Kadah confirmed that wheat is stored in places meet safety and storing requirement like frequent turning over and sterilising process and all other procedure to keep the harvest safe.
Kadah called farmers and traders to sell their harvest of wheat to institutions of liberated Daraa as that a moral duty must abide by it in order to prevent the regime from buying it because it secures producing bread, because food and bread has become one of regime’s weapons used to pressurise people. “who sells wheat to regime is considered a co-partner of regime in killing our children and starving them.
