Muslim scholars in Syria have put forward a project called “the strong structure” which aims to unite the Islamic factions on the ground besides organizing and monitoring them within one administrative and organizational framework based on up-to-date developments in military science, sources reported to Zaman Alwasl.
Zaman Alwasl exclusively obtained a copy of the
draft plan to build up an army called
“Mohammed Army”, which would be an integrated organisation to re- steering the
revolution based on establishing an ideological background and developing a
regulatory and legitimate framework, and concentrate on uniting revolutionary
leaderships to confront Assad regime and Iranian colonization.
The idea of this initiative has been born because
of separation among battalions and failing in uniting them till now, despite
some previous attempts, those were immature or not serious.
Based on the fact that crisis in Syria may be
prolonged for years, which endangers introducing new players aiming to fail the
revolution, a need for an Islamic army comprises of most influential and
largest Islamists factions has been raised, the draft said.
The main mission this army is to build and
rehabilitate moderate Muslims in any position, ideologically, intellectually,
scientifically, physically and militarily to form the base of the Syrian army
in future.
According to the draft, the planned army is
founded on ten principles; most important one is avoiding sectarian way of
dealing with all people from other religions and sects, although it would
follow the Sunni Sect. Moreover, it is prohibited killing anyone on sectarian basis,
or killing children, women, and the elderly. The draft added: “it is not
allowed to kill prisoners, demolishing houses, burning or stealing crops and
goods”.
The initial study of the project suggested that
“Mohammed Army” establishment would need 6 stages, starting in
September this year, and finishing in December next year. In the meantime, the
draft said, many goals must be reached especially uniting the army under one
leadership and reach to a capacity of 1oo thousand fighters in 18 months up to 250 thousand during the 30
months. The draft insisted on the need for getting rid of the arm chaos and
tries to manufacture weapons locally.
“Muhammad Army " is a real project, not just a theoretical idea, as there are important military and politically figures working on it, according to Zaman Alwasl's source.
It is expected that announcement made by a
collection of Free Syrian Army and other Islamists battalion on Tuesday to
withdraw recognition of the National coalition, to be the start of this army.
