(Eqtsad)- Syrians keep proving their talents in refuge countries all around the world, Ahmed jerkin is one of them.
Ahmed arrived to Alexandria in 2013, after getting his basic learning certificate as he only lost 3 marks of the full mark of 310.
In Egypt, Ahmed found no difficulty in accommodating with the Egyptian curriculum, but he found some difficulty in dealing with the Egyptian accent, but soon it became easier and dealt with it as if it was his mother tongue.
Ahmed told Eqtsad that he was shocked when he lost 12 marks of the full mark in grade-10, which was unfamiliar for him in Syria. That experience taught him how to deal with teaching in Egypt.
Ahmed discovered that additional notes are needed beside the formal curriculum to know what each teacher wants, moreover, he became convinced that private classes are important to gain high marks, as he started having them in grade-11, but they were too expensive and hardly affordable.
Osama, Ahmed’s father, from Jisr al-Shoghour in Idlib, was an English teacher in Syria, but in Egypt he opened a shop for cleaning materials.
Osama explained to Eqtsad that he found difficulties in accommodating with life in
Egypt and securing an accommodation and a job, besides issuing passports, but that did not stop him from supporting his son.
The father explained that cost of private classes was to high, at 500 Egyptian pound per month in grade-11, reached to 1000 in Grade-12.
Ahmed in the end harvested his tiredness and his family support and got the first rank in the secondary certificate exam “baccalaureate” for expatriates in Egypt, as he only lost one mark from the full mark in 2016's exams..
Now, Ahmed joined the school of Medicine in Alexandria, his long-life dream.
Ahmed explained to Eqtsad that Egyptian teachers treated him very well, with no discrimination between him and other Egyptian students.
Ahmed was given an honorary ceremony organised by Syrian activists where he received Syrians’ congratulations for his achievements that put Syrians among successful people in Egypt
