(Zaman Al Wasl)- Mohammad Za’al al-Ali, the governor of al-Hasakah province, directed a speech filled with pleading and groveling terms for the Democratic Union Party militia calling them “brothers in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party,” reminding them of what the regime has presented them with from weapons and ammunition to face the terrorist groups.
The regime media broadcasting the communication with the governor is considered an exceptional case in the regime’s practice which has been cautious from the start to face most Syrians with iron and fire, and threaten them, and describe them using the worst possible terms unlike the PYD militia.
The governor said the city of al-Hasakah is burning, and it like the city of Qamishli are on a devil’s hand, continuing, “brothers in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party have cut off the road between the 21 regiment and the 23 regiment and the road between al-Hasakah and al-Qamishli.”
The governor said those brothers prevented the regime army and police from passing through the cut off road, so clashes between the regime and the PYD forces took place. He added, “we intervened and put much effort… we met with them for 5 hours, we wished from them and asked them the open the al-Hasakah road, and 21 and 23 regiment, and we reminded them of humanitarian values and belonging to this nation.”
The governor admitted that there were deaths and injuries among the regime forces, and that some injured forces died as the PYD prohibited their evacuation.
The governor repeated several times the term brothers as a description of the PYD militia, calling one some of their leaders by name including Redor Khalil who were provided last year with “3 tanks, ammunition to fight the terrorist groups… we gave them weapons and ammunition.”
Despite the PYD militia fighting the regime’s soldiers, and it even cut off their bread for a week by his own admission, but the governor of al-Hasakah continued to direct his speech at this militia with the term brothers, saying he respects them and appreciates them, “they have from salutation and appreciation,” especially as they, “contributed in previous battles, and fought the terrorist groups,” side by side with the regime.
The governor called on the PYD leadership to “return to their senses, country, and Syrian-ness, and to the blood that flows in their veins, asking in a pleading tone: what do they want from al-Hasakah, they want to occupy and exploit it?!”
Whereas the governor insisted on the title brothers regarding the PYD militia, he launched a sharp criticism to those he called, “some Arab from the mercenaries, traitors, and foul people.”
As an embodiment of the regime’s instructions, the governor stated that he supports discussion with the PYD and its militias, saying, “if they want to talk then welcome… I defend them and I adopt their rights,” calling them to, “use their weapons in other locations and fronts that are not between us and them.”
The governor of al-Hasakah province admitted the violations and overstepping of the National Defense militia led to the fighting between the regime and the PYD.
