PYD accuses Zaman Alwasl of publishing incorrect information

Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) accused Zaman Alwasl of publishing incorrect information about the political and military situation of the Kurds who participate in the Syrian Revolution, which deeply affects the mutual relationship between Arabs and Kurds.

In the statement sent to Zaman Alwasl, the party focused on what it called “insistence" of the newspaper to call “the Syrians protection Units” as part of "PKK" claiming that dozens of none Kurdish has joined those units.

Democratic Union interpreted this as a lack of information or intentional act, confirming that "PKK" is a Kurdish Turkish party, has its own political agenda which is not related to what has been happening in Syria.

The statement insisted on the Syrian roots of those Zaman Alwasl talks about and confirmed that they have no relationship with PKK, the Kurdish Turkish party.

The statement stressed that the task of “protecting the Syrians' Units” is to defend civilian areas in all parts of Syria, not the Kurdish areas only. The units are part of the Kurdish Supreme Authority that includes all the Syrian Kurdish parties.

The Party ended its statement wishing that Zaman Alwasl be as honest and professional as it is widely known, especially in delivering news to help the Syrian revolution.

Zaman Alwasl from its side, confirms that it and its correspondents obtain news and information from local, well informed or responsible sources, who describe “the Syrians Protection units” as part of PKK. Maybe because they think those units follow the Syrian version of the Turkish PKK.

Zaman Alwasl confirms that it is keen to deliver correct and credible information with as much accurate terminology as possible to help Syrian people to get the right message. Moreover, to stick to transparency, Zaman Alwasl promises to look in depth at the organizational and political background of these units, because it consider itself, the newspaper for all Syrians, regardless their political or racial background.
