What are the most prominent difficulties that you are facing as medical staff within the besieged neighborhoods of Aleppo?

-A very large number of wounded coming due to the targeting that is happening, the main problem is the targeting of hospitals and health establishments, which puts a lot of pressure on those working in the medical field, using material requires a lot of thought as you have to be meticulous to direct consumption, and that is for all medicines and medical accessories in addition to fuel which increases the pressure.
What is the number of functional hospitals in the besieged Aleppo city, and does this number over the needs completely.

-8 hospitals, unfortunately most of the hospitals inside Aleppo are small, and the number of hospital beds and number of beds for care are few which leads to the hospital filling up quickly?

How many doctors are currently present in besieged Aleppo’s hospitals and what are the available specializations and how is the current deficiency in specializations covered?

-There are around 25 doctors at the moment and most of the specializations are available and any deficiency is covered by other specialists.

We all know that the functioning hospitals in Aleppo work by using electrical generators that depend on diesel product, what is the daily needs for the hospital to function and for how much longer can you keep functioning with the quantity of diesel available to you?

-our approximate consumption in general situations is a barrel and a half on a daily basis based on the size of the hospital… at the moment we are severely rationing in hospitals and so the consumption is now half a barrel daily and there are no alternative solutions until now.

What about medicines and medical accessories?

-The stored amount was supposed to be enough for 3 months under general circumstance, but if the large number of injured and medical operations continue, the amount is not expected to last more than a month.

Has any international medical or humanitarian organization been in touch to provide aid such as the Red Crescent for instance, and is there any initiatives on the horizon to bring medicines or medical accessories in to ensure your continued work in providing medical services?

-We have communicated with the Health Directorate and with the city council and generally there is an agreement to not accept any aid coming through the regime controlled areas, and the solutions is to stop the main cause of the massacres which is the Russian and Syrian warplanes, because giving aid contributes to curing patients but the best thing would be their not being injured in the first place.
