(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rebels have killed 11 regime troops and 3 Hezbollah militants in the ongoing clashes in the mountainous Jabal al-Akrad area in Latakia province, commander said Thursday.
Clashes have renewed between regime forces and rebels near Kensabba town since Monday morning days after calm followed U.S.-Russian truce.
The corpses of Hezbollah militants still on the ground of al-Haddada hilltop, senior commander in the First Coastal Division told Zaman al-Wasl.
Rebels seek to seize territory overlooks on the western countryside of Idlib where they could secure supply routes, commander added.
Latakia Media Network says both sides have exchanged shelling on their territories in Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal Turkman areas.
The strategic hilltops have witnessed several skirmishes for months, and gains and losses reported for each side.
Regime artillery has also hit al-Kabbana and al-Najiya villages.
