(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime forces backed by Shiite militias on Saturday regained control of several villages northeast of Hama city, taking advantage of the infighting between Syrian resistance factions in Idlib’s southern countryside, field sources said
Regime warplane also launched several strikes against locations in liberated Idlib and Hama’s rural areas killing civilians.
The sources confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that the regime forces and its sectarian militias launched their most violent attack so far since the start of the most recent Hama battles in the beginning of September. The regime and its sectarian militias took control of the villages of al-Janina, al-Tulaysiyah, al-Shatheh, al-Khaimah, al-Cairo, al-Naqra, and the area of Tel al-Aswad.
Regime helicopters bombed the city of Murak north of Hama with explosive barrels and warplanes used thermobaric missiles on the area of Hish in southern Idlib leading to death of 4 people from the same family. Khan Shaykhun, Idlib, Binnish, and the villages in Jisr Ash Shugur countryside were also subject to aerial bombardment.
The regime regaining control of villages happened after Ahrar al-Sham Movement took control of the Jund al-Aqsa’s location in al-Mastumah camp, in Maarrat al-Nu’man, al-Hamdiah, Jarjnaz, Sarmada in Idlib’s countryside with clashes continuing between both sides in Idlib’s southern areas until Friday evening.
