FSA takes 3 villages from ISIS near Turkish border


(Zaman Al Wasl)-The Free Syrian Army participating in Turkey-led Euphrates Shield Operation have controlled three villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo province after heavy clashes with the Islamic State, advancing to almost 8 km, 9 miles, away from the strategic town of Dabiq, activists said Sunday.

Turkish-Supported military formations have Sunday announced the villages of Akhtrin, Maraa and Kafr-Gan as military areas and advised residents to leave them in order to protect themselves from harm during the battle of liberating them from the Islamic State.

Captain Abdul-Salam Abdul-Razak, official spokesman of Nour al-din al-Zenki movement reported that formations of Euphrates shield are trying to control the whole Eastern countryside of Aleppo especially Manbij and al-Bab and return them to their people.

Abdul Razak explained to Zaman al-Wasl that coming goal of the Syrian resistance is liberating the village of Dewebiq then the town of Dabiq, the symbolic town of ISIS.

The spokesman confirmed that the Islamic State has lost a lot during the battles of Euphrates shield, but he confirmed that fighters of ISIS who were captured are going to treated according to law and they will be judged by court.

In a relevant content, medical and legal bodies confirmed names of 12 people were killed Saturday evening in Aleppo city and countryside, including 4 children and 4 women due to Russian an regime air strikes.

Operation of Euphrates Shield, cross-border operation by the Turkish military and allied groups in the Syrian opposition, has started operation in August 24, 2016. It is trying to liberate the area between the Euphrates river to the east and the rebel-held area around Azaz and Eastern Aleppo to the west. The Turkish military and Turkey-backed Syrian rebel groups are fighting against forces of the Islamic State as well as against the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF).

After 5 years of multi-sided war, more than 470 thousand people have been killed and 11 million, half of Syria's pre-war population, have forced to leave their houses, 4.8 million have fled the country, and 6.6 million have become internally displaced by the violence, according to the U.N..
