(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 12 people, mostly children, were killed by explosion hit a school in the southern Syrian city of Daraa on Tuesday, activists and local monitoring group said.
Opposition factions denied any responsibility for the attach as regime-run news agency reported.
SANA said five children were killed and 15 wounded in shelling of a primary school in the Al-Sahary neighborhood of Daraa city.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor, also reported the rocket fire on the school.
It said that at least 25 people were wounded in the attack, and that the death toll was likely to rise because a number of the wounded were in critical condition.
Rebel forces control most of Daraa province, but the provincial capital is largely controlled by the regime.
Late on Monday, regime warplanes conducted at least 20 raids on the western countryside of Daraa, activists said.
The strikes renewed on Tuesday on Dael and Ibta' towns what caused huge dismantlement.
Daraa was the cradle of the Syrian uprising against Bashar al-Assad that began with peaceful protests in March 2011. (With AFP)
