(Zaman Al Wasl)- New campaign of arresting young men for mandatory conscription in the coastal city of Jableh,, included residents and displaced people, to take them to fight at fronts.
Admin of the facebook page “Syria Here from Jableh al-Adhamiya” confirmed that the regime’s military police have arrested more than 70 young men in Jableh within two days for both local residents and displaced people who live in the city.
He detailed that members of police had disguised in ordinary clothes and were used motorcycles for transportation in order to arrest people without getting known.
The admin reported that the arresting was random without checking any documents, as military police arrested any young-man seemed to be able to fight. Accordingly, young men tended to stay at homes or using small narrow routes in local neighbourhoods to do urgent matters fearing of getting arrested.
After arresting these men according to the source, they were taken to the military police branch in Latakia for few hours, then they were taken to the military prison in Homs which is a gathering centre, then they were taken to training centres for two weeks to practice using arms before sending them to fighting fronts between the regime and the Syrian resistance.
Moreover, it was reported that sectarian abduction is still threatening civilians. Many cases of abduction were reported, the latest was abducting a man from his farm.
Activists accused National Defense Militias of committing the crime.
Jableh city had witnessed many cases of abduction for ransom, many of them ended in killing abductees, while others still absent.
Jableh was one of the first Syrian cities to join the revolution in the end of March 2011, which put its people under risk of arrest, which forced many of its people to leave the city fearing of arrest or conscription.
