(Eqtsad)- Asem Hasna, a Syrian young man from Qatana city Western of Damascus, worked with a medical group on first aid to help wounded during demonstrations and detainees, in the beginning of the Syrian revolution.
He was still in University studying maths, when the Syrian intelligence arrested his father instead of him 2013, because they found medical equipments in his house. He left to Khan al-Shih and joined the hospital of Khalid al-Biqaee.
During his work, the ambulance he was in, was targeted which led to amputating his leg. He then was transferred to Jordan, where had a chance to have an idea about the project of the Ministry of Foreign affair of USA aimed to provide 150 prostheses to Syrian victims. There was a training course for 9 months a part of the project to teach 12 Syrian people to be technicians in making prostheses, Asem was nominated as a patients and a trainer and he finished the course successfully.
He started his work in dealing with 10 cases of amputees to fix prostheses for them. His work gave him opportunity to know about the three dimensions printers, to produce prostheses as part of Refugee Open Ware organisation strategy, which try to use new inventions to find solutions for war victims.

Asem was able to make a prostheses for a woman from Zatari camp during short time of his work with the organisation.

Moreover, he worked with his friend to provide an ultrasound sensor for a child who lost his sight to warn him about the distance of objects to protect him from stumbling.

Asem went then to Germany to study and have more experience in the field of prostheses to return to Jordan in order to help more people.

When he first arrived to German, he participated in TEDx Berlin Salon for inventors, he gave a presentation titled “Rebuilding our Lives, Rebuilding or Countries”, in which he talked about his experience and how he lost his leg, and his project that intending to achieve an working on, Which is about "3D printing and Fab Lap" for prostheses making, and his plans to establishing his own lab for prostheses and training Syrians young men on those new technology.

He is now work with Syrian children in Germany, teaching them how to make robot communicate in Arabic language.
Asem is fluent in English and German languages, he participated in different conferences for latest technologies in prostheses developing.

Asem aims to return to Syria to transfer his experience to young men and establish a centre for making cheap robot prostheses affordable for all.
