Sources: Russian warplanes hit Turkish troops not regime on Nov. 24

(Zaman al-Wasl)- A military source from inside regime forces confirmed that Russian warplanes are the ones targeted a Turkish forces convoy participating in Euphrates Shield operation against ISIS north of Syria on November 24 at the same date which Turkish forces downed Russian jet last year.

The source, spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed to Zaman al-Wasl that two Russian Sukhoi 34 took off from Hemiemem airport last Thursday and raided the Turkish forces convoy on the road connecting Izaz and al-Bab.

The source said the Russian raid on the Turkish convoy took place at 3:30 a.m. and destroyed a tank and shielded Turkish vehicles. Also, it killed 4 Turkish soldiers and injured more than 10.

Turkish sources had confirmed that unidentified jets have executed the raid before it announced that regime jets are the ones which raided the convoy.

The source said the regime jets and pilots are unqualified to work at this hour at night, confirming that flying at this time is considered one of the most difficult in the world and regime forces cannot train pilots on flying since mid-1995 due to bad technical conditions of regime warplanes and decrease of training programs in addition to regime lack of space deduction means and difficulty of identifying targets at this time of the night especially the moving targets.

This comes after a time where Russian-Turkish relations have improved after Turkish leadership apologized for downing Sukhoi 24 on November 24 last year.

Observers say that raiding the Turkish convoy is an act of revenge for the Russian Sukhoi 24 downed by Turkish F16 according to resolve conflict rules after the Russian jet entered the Turkish air space.
