British Charity provides aid to 3450 Syrian families

Since the eruption of violence in March 2011, Hand in Hand for Syria charity organization has been at the forefront of international humanitarian assistance inside Syria. In close conjunction with its partners on the ground, it has been able to feed, clothe and treat hundreds of injured and vulnerable families.

The Bttitish-based NGO aid is delivered to the areas that have been worst affected by the crisis in Syria. To date, the highest number of civilian deaths has been in the city of Homs, followed by Idlib and Daraa. We have a network of volunteers in all of these three cities - as well as other areas - to help us reach the most vulnerable people.

Currently Hand In Hand for Syria provides humanitarian aid to more than 3450 families and three field hospitals inside Syria.

The NGO says:  ‘’always in need of additional funding for life-changing projects. Without input from our supporters, we would not be able to continue our vital work.

Many of donors who support our work choose to donate to our general funds, which allows us to use their donation wherever it is needed most. Unrestricted income such as this allows us to respond most effectively to the changing situation inside Syria.

If you prefer, you may also choose to support a project directly and we have a wide range of projects suitable for such a support. It is easy for you to choose to fund areas of our work that you feel most closely match your charitable aims.

Some examples of projects you might like to support:

- You could raise funds to buy an ambulance for Syria

- You could help us to buy medicines and medical equipment for hospitals

- You could choose to provide food and shelter to internally displaced families

- You could help us to buy essential baby products like milk and nappies for newborn babies

- You could ensure that children survive the freezing winter by helping us buy warm clothing and blankets

Benefits of supporting Hand in Hand for Syria:

We are one of the few charities currently able to work inside Syria and all of your donation is spent on our life-changing work. Our projects are transparent and have measurable benefits for people’s lives.

As the political situation stabilises, we are hoping to expand our work to other areas and to continue supporting the existing families until they become self-sufficient.

We have established a closely monitored network of local workers and a secure supply route into Syria, making us one of the few charities able to help those inside Syria most acutely affected by the crisis.

By employing local people, we are helping to maintain livelihoods and retaining skilled workers. We currently pay staff to deliver aid to families, doctors and nurses to treat injured civilians, and pharmacists to maintain stocks of medication in Syria.

Over the past year we have helped save and improve the lives of thousands of hard to reach and marginalised people. By supporting us you will be helping us to reach even more.

To support a project directly you will need to let us know by emailing us at [email protected]
