(Zaman Al Wasl)- A Turkish hospital refused to admit Sham, a Syrian infant in Turkey who suffers of big Meningocele, because her parents have not obtained the refugees ID card yet.
Sham from Deir Ezzor, she was born with big Meningocele, almost as big as her size, affecting her health, while parents hoped to find treatment for her in Turkish hospitals and for that they paid $3000 to arrive to Turkey, but when they went to the hospital in the border city of Keles, they were referred to the Teaching University of Gaziantep, but there she was denied access to medical treatment because he parents do not have to needed ID refugee card (Kimlik 99), according to activist Ahmed Ramadan, manager of Furat post.
The activist detailed the girl’s health status saying that doctors inside Syria diagnosed her of Meningocele in the upper part of her back, and she needed delicate treatment and surgery.
The activist mentioned that the infant’s condition is deteriorating, and she might die anytime due to the delay in treating her. He confirmed that his team tried to contact many relief, medical and aid organisations, but only one of them replied and promised to contact the Ministry of health in Ankara to accelerate the process to obtain the needed ID card.
