UAE, Saudi Arabia engineered dark tunnel with Qatar and the region

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Saudi Foreign Minister Adil al-Jubeir's statement that Qatar should stop supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas is far less than the size of the fierce campaign against Qatar, but in fact it is possible the campaign will escalate further.

So Is the siege of Qatar and the severance of diplomatic relations and accusing Qatar of being a sponsor of terrorism and all this noise just because Qatar supports the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas? Of course, the issue does not go beyond traditional Gulf disputes.

When the American president flew from Riyadh to Tel Aviv, he opened fire on Hamas, reminding that it is a terrorist movement in the American perspective. This is not new, but it is new for Americans to describe Hamas from within Saudi Arabia as a terrorist movement. Hamas could not escape this by amending its charter and moved to accept the 1967 borders and is ready to work with the Palestine Liberation Organization and the rest of the Palestinian currents within the framework of national action. But again the issue transcends Hamas to the Middle East that America’s Trump wants.

Before the US president's visit to Riyadh, Zaman al-Wasl learned from informed research sources that the visit, which was prepared in Saudi Arabia at a high level, was accompanied by a high-level deal in the Middle East.

According to the sources, this deal is based on a comprehensive settlement with the Israeli occupation so that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are to engineer this comprehensive settlement, which reproduces the Arab peace initiative announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it is no longer valid, to new political data in which Israel is the biggest winner while at the same time based on the settlement US guarantees to reduce the influence of Iran in the region according to a US vision which will be presented later. In the face of this deal, the boycott countries wanted Doha to be out of this deal.

The sources said that the UAE, spearheading this project, asked US President Donald Trump to exclude Qatar from the deal, considering that Qatar's relationship with Hamas will be a stumbling block in the face of this project, as well as the Qatari position on the Palestinian issue. Indeed, this has been agreed upon.

According to research sources, the United States is aware of all the details of the campaign against Qatar, and almost all the steps taken against Qatar are studied with the American side.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have found the opportunity to hold Qatar accountable for the six-year harvest of the Arab Spring, as the White House man has close ties with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed and then take the boycott procedures.

The crisis is likely to escalate, especially as Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah returned from Jeddah to Kuwait without talking about anything while Oman has gotten closer to Saudi Arabia after joining the Islamic alliance two months ago.

The biggest dispute between Qatar and the UAE and Saudi Arabia are the repercussions of the Arab Spring. Since the beginning of this spring, the Gulf States have been divided into three sections. Qatar has been the leader of the pro-freedom movement and the transition to democracy. The UAE has stood firmly against this spring wherever it is, while the Saudi position has been neutral for a long time and stood against this wave.

The differences in views on Egypt, Syria and Yemen were clear among these countries, but these kinds of discrepancies are difficult to talk about and expose as they are likely to be reflected in the societies of these countries. That’s why Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood were like Othman’s shirt in attacking Qatar, but this charge is only a broad theme that is easy to refute and even analyze.

If the crisis does not abate in the next few days, according to the sources, there are more steps to escalate against Qatar, and it has started to pressure many Arab countries to take the position of boycott. There is already a campaign to control the Qatari role and to define a new role that Qatar will not likely accept to take.
