Human Rights Watch Thursday called for an investigation into the deaths of five Syrian nationals and ill-treatment of detainees while in Lebanese Army custody.
Human Rights Watch released a statement, which claimed that the Army was responsible for the death of five Syrian nationals and the torture and ill-treatment of other detainees.
Three hundred and fifty six Syrian nationals were detained following a raid by the Army on two informal Refugee settlements in the town of Arsal last month.
It was initially reported that four of the detainees died while in custody, which the Army claimed was due to pre-existing conditions.
