Syria Intelligence kidnaps rebel families to swap with loyal ones

Two Syrian displaced families who fled to Jarmana from besieged Eastern Ghouta towns were kidnapped by the Air Forces intelligence to enforce rebels, who took control of Adra al-Ummaliya, to release hostages loyal to Assad.

Sources detailed the incidence to Zaman Alwasl said: "nearly 600 people live in the refuge, it was raided by members of the Air Force intelligence, then two families, one of them a family of four “a mother and her son and two daughters” from Irbin, and the other  from Douma were arrested and taken away.

Activists expected that abduction aimed to force the FSA to release Syrian regime’s hostages in Adra.

Activists appealed to well known figures to interfere to release those abducted families, because they have sought a shelter in Jaramana, and they have nothing to do with the battle in Adra.

“The Air Forces intelligence raided the  refuge many times before, but it was the first time to take that number of people away, it is too intrusive action especially those people have not done anything wrong” an activist commented.

People in Jaramana have been trying their best to keep their town safe to shelter displaced people. However, they suffer from the provoking actions of pro-regime militia's “Shabiha”.

In relevant context, rebels have denounced in statement, obtained by Zaman Alwasl, claims of killing over 80 civilians in the city of Adra al-Ummaliya.

The statement denied also kidnapping some families in order to be used as human shields.

Adra battle was a strategic step to break Eastern Ghouta siege, statement said, assuring that many of casualties were form militias loyal to the Syrian regime as many others have been killed due to Assad army shelling.

Forces loyal to al-Assad are continuing a large-scale operation against Jabhat al-Nusra and Liwa Al-Islam fighters, who captured the town earlier this week. The area is located some 20 kilometers away from Damascus.

The rebel presence remains strong in Adra, with “snipers entrenched in high-rise buildings. Many opposition militant groups are still acting in areas outside and within the town, RT pro-Assad television reported.
