(Zaman Al Wasl)- Humanitarian aid has reached residents of the besieged Yarmouk camp south of Damascus on Thursday for the first time in five months, local reporter said.
A convoy of 6 vehicles loaded with food and medicine entered into the neighbourhood of al-Riji that controlled by Tahrir al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front. Aid delivery was agreed by Tahrir al-Sham and Iran in the Four Towns evacuation deal that reached early this year.
Another aid convoy reached Kafraya and Fuaa villages in northern Idlib province.
About 350 people live in ISIS-held neighborhoods of Yarmouk camp in desperate state.
Last February, ISIS blocked the only remaining humanitarian route to the neighborhoods of al-Riji and Ain Gazal west of Yermouk camp.
People of Yarmouk have appealed many times to keep them away from the ongoing conflict in the camp and allow food, drinking water and other living needs to enter their areas.
Om Alaa, a resident of the besieged Riji neighborhood said: “We live in oppressive conditions due to siege, I am 50 years old and I have Diabetes and I need medications,, but I the barrier is closed for more than 20 days, no food, no water, the Syrian regime surrounding us from one side an ISIS from the other.
