(Zaman Al Wasl)- Islamic State militants attacked the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces in al-Shaddadi town south of Hasaka province on Monday, leaving 6 fighters killed and wounded, activists said.
The attack left one SDF fighter killed and 5 more wounded, activist Mohamed al-Khedher said.
Two family members were also killed in the southern countryside of Hasaka in the U.S.-led coalition airstrikes on Markada town, the last stronghold of ISIS in Hasaka.
A total of 2,617 civilians have been killed in the U.S.-led airstrikes in Syria since late 2014, a monitor group reported Saturday.
The death toll includes 615 children and 443 women, said the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The casualties were documented in the provinces of Hasakah, Raqqa, Aleppo, Idlib and Deir al-Zour, the group added.
