Again and again
the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights raises outrage within
Syrian opposition by distorting the facts and being too biased to Basher Al
Assad’s side, activists said.
The recent news by Rami Abdul Rahman, the only man who runs the observatory, said that Assad army had ambushed Islamist fighters in the Qalamoun mountains north of the capital Damascus on Friday, leaving as many as 60 people dead, while the rebel sources assured that most of the victims were civilians from Al Nabk were fleeing the ongoing battles in their city to be ambushed near al-Qaser village by the planted mines on their road.
Activist Tim al-Qalamouni said the attack didn’t happen between the Christian town of Maaloula and the town of Yabroud, as the Observatory said.
Al-Qalamouni asked the observatory about the credibility of its sources which always distort the truth.
Syria's armed uprising began as a series of
peaceful democracy protests 33 months ago but escalated into a full-blown civil
war after Assad's regime launched a brutal crackdown on dissent.
The conflict
is estimated to have killed around 200,000 people according to the opposition watchdogs and displaced millions more.
