Radical Islamist group, The
State of Iraq and The Levant has been freed Lieutenant-Colonel and FSA
commander, Ahmed al-Saud, who was kidnapped ten days ago in Idlib province by the
ISIL, activists said.
''Anyone
working for a free and peaceful Syria is either killed by Assad or eliminated
or kidnapped by ISIL, according to the Revolting Syrian said.
Al Saud was released after intense mediation by Islamist groups and under pressure of demonstrators in Marret al-Nou’man in Idlib province, Media activists Hazem al-Deckel said.
ISIL was
accused as most FSA commanders of conspiracy and being backed by infidel west.
In relevant development, ISIL has
kidnapped the prominent Journalist Milad Shehabi in Aleppo yesterday, 4 days
after arresting 7 media activists by the same group in Aleppo, according to
Activists.
ISIL
is considered one of the most extremist and intolerant groups currently
involved in the fighting against Bashar Assad, even in comparison to the other
rebel group linked to al-Qaeda, Jabhat al-Nusra.
The group’s gains have underscored growing
infighting among rebel factions seeking to oust Assad. A recent takeover of
opposition warehouses by ISIL members spurred the US and UK to announce they
would suspend the nonlethal aid they had been providing to Syrian rebels.
Syria's armed uprising began as a series
of peaceful democracy protests 33 months ago but escalated into a full-blown
civil war after Assad's regime launched a brutal crackdown on dissent.
The conflict is estimated to have killed
around 126,000 people and displaced millions more.
