20 prisoners break out of rebel-held jail in Daraa province

(Zaman Al Wasl)- About 20 prisoners broke out of a rebel-held jail in southern Daraa province, shedding the light of the deteriorating security condition in Daraa after a series of assassinations and car bombs, local activists said on Sunday.

The inmates who were charged with drug dealing, killing and burglary, have escaped from the Justice Court building late on Saturday.

Two Islamist judges wounded in explosive device attack targeted the Justice Court on Wednesday. Also, a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a base belongs to ‘Mu'taz Bellah’ Brigade in Mzairib town in the western countryside, leaving one fighter dead. Activists said on Tuesday the suicide bomber had links with the Islamic State.

10 fighters from the Jaish Khaled Bin Walid group were killed, along with two women believed to be the wives of fighters by suspected Israeli airstrikes on Sahm al-Jolan town, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The strike hit a base belonging to the group, which has pledged allegiance to ISIS but was never formally incorporated into it.

Two week ago, six rebel factions led by former al-Qaeda group launched assault on Jaish Khaled Ibn al-Walid near the Israeli-Occupied Golan Heights.
