Defection For Freedom: novel narrates page of Syrian Revolution

 (Zaman Al Wasl)- ‘The Resurrection.. Defection For freedom’, in a 208-page novel, a Syrian lawyer and former police officer has been shedding the light on his own journey in the chambers of the regime security at the beginning of Syrian revolution that commemorates its seventh anniversary.

The Istanbul-based Mohamed Abuddal al-Fadhli, who defected from the Interior ministry, to join the revolution ranks, has narrated real stories where imagination plays a little role, for what were happening the one of Lattakia’s suburbs, the hometown of the Assad family in coastal region.

The extreme crackdown at the early days of revolution that began in March 2011 was an outcome of 50 years of oppression and totalitarian rule.

Al-Fadhli’s novel is documentation for the years of brutal war followed the peaceful demonstrations but it has revealed more about the conditions pushed people for their  resurrection as the writer dubs the uprising.
