Bashar al-Assad’s top commander in
Aleppo has been killed on Saturday with other 25 soldiers, activists reported.
Brig. Gen Sameea Abbas was the commander of
the Republican Guards, mostly formed of Alawites, in Aleppo.
Activists say that rebels keep advancing in al-Lairmoon front in Aleppo
taking two more halls. Also rebels have destroyed a tank in front of Air
Intelligence branch in the area.
Meanwhile, the clashes between regime forces
backed by Al-Ba'th battalions and NDF, against Jabhat AL-Nusra and Islamic
battalions, in al-Lairmoon led to death of 5 regular soldiers, and 8 from the
rebels, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
On another battlefront, Assad’s warplanes opened heavy machine-gun fire on areas in
Der-Hafer town, amid clashes between regime forces backed by allied gunmen,
against Jabhat AL-Nusra and Islamic battalions, around Al-Shekh Sa'eed
neighborhood, the observatory said.
