At least 54 people, including four children, have been killed in air and ground operations across Syria by President Bashar al-Assad's regime on Monday, opposition activists have claimed.
The London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights watchdog said that 15 people were killed in the suburbs of each Damascus and Idlib, 9 in Aleppo, 8 in Homs, four in Deir’z Zor, two in Daraa and one in Hama.
An additional report from the Local Coordination Committees of Syria said that the Assad's forces staged heavily armed attacks on the opposition-controlled areas of Aleppo, Idlib and Hama.
The Syrian government's official SANA news agency claimed that state forces had 'neutralized' a large number of opponents nationwide.
More than 100,000 people have been killed during the ongoing three-year conflict in Syria, which has also internally displaced more than 6.5 million people, according to the U.N. Over two million Syrians are now registered as refugees in neighboring Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. AA
