Syrian activists on hunger strike protesting Assad crimes

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Many believe that the Syrian revolution has faded, but Syrians who believe in their revolution, their right to live and victory decided to fight their battle against the Assad regime and its allies in a different way. 
Brita Hajji Hassan, former Head of Free Aleppo Governorate, decided to go on hunger strike, so many others across the world supported him.

On Monday, the second wave of protests will begin. People in France, Turkey, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium will go on hunger strikes in order to protest against the crimes of the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian partners

Four Syrian activists set up a committee to support Brita’s and his strike. 

Tariq Haj Bakri, human rights activist and fellow journalist in Zaman al-Wasl, began on Monday an open hunger strike in the Turkish city of Gaziantep.

Also, active member of the committee, Abdelkader Bakkar talked about the committee activities. He pointed out that it organized media campaigns and the Twitter hashtags have received attention. 
He said that it is the committee aiming to organize the Syrians 'entry into the strike, the number of which increases daily and covered by the media.

“Barita’s goals and the rest of the hunger strikers are the Syrians' goals, as they all looking for an end to the killing and to achieve the demands of the revolution for freedom and dignity,” he said. 

11 people in addition to Haj Hassan were on strike and it will be followed by many other waves of strikes. 

The conflict in Syria has killed more than 560,000 people and displaced 6.5 millions since the revolution erupted in 2011 with the brutal repression of protests against Bashar al-Assad.
