Political Asylum demands rise amid minorities

PARIS-Zaman Alwasl- The humanitarian tragedy in Syria continues to deteriorate at a rapid pace with more than 7 million refugees (the majority internally displaced) fleeing to neighboring countries to escape death after seeing their neighborhoods bombed and family members killed.

However, some fake asylum seekers took advantage of others’ circumstances to submit fake claims and fabricate stories in order to obtain citizenship and secure a high standard of living.

In one of these incidents that occurred in a French court, a French elegant woman called the family seeking asylum, and returned to her office which is concerned with Syrian refugees’ affairs, followed by a family "gasping for a breath".

The French employee with its usual seriousness asked: "did you live difficult days in Syria"? The father peeked at his wife then answered: “we are a small minority and we fled from the horror of the battles there, where Christian children are killed and the sanctity of their homes is violated”.

The family presented itself as Christians from Aleppo , the city which faces death daily , yet investigations about the family came up with astonishing revelations , the family seeking refugee are Iraqi Christians who bought Syrian IDs with a big amount of money from Syrians who were in “Al Qaaem” Iraqi camp , specifically from a family that came from Deir al-Zour .

According to the French employee, the Iraqi family entered the French territories illegally to seek asylum on behalf of the Syrian family, which has been done before by another Iraqi family.

Once again the same fraudulent activity with different details is practiced in Germany, where a Lebanese Shiite family applied for an asylum using Syrians’ identities, and soon it was discovered to record another crime.

This kind of manipulation forced the French authorities to reconsider their asylum procedures relating to Syrians fleeing death, including applying severe border control, because their sympathy has started to be shaken or change slightly, especially after an Armenian family sought asylum claiming to be from Syria escaping Islamists’ hell.

The surprise comes from pro-regime supporters who are racing to get an asylum and turned their back to the Syrian people to bear the hardships, selling their parents and relatives who are fighting with Assad’s regime in hell fronts to enjoy France’s luxurious life.

It might not be ironic at first, but when large classes of Assad’s supporters applies for asylum in France and begin a remarkable phenomenon in recent times, it’s considered a big contradiction to their previous attitudes towards France.

Tayif , an Alawite woman who came from Dubai in an attempt to get asylum in France, has forgot totally when she spoke bitterly about the shameful position of the French government towards events in Syria , and did not hesitate for a moment to knock on the door of the French Court to act as a a prosecuted ( minority) who should be protected by Geneva convention.

Tayif , no longer cares for those evenings when she acted as a pro-regime shabiha, nor remembers the taste of sweets she had with her friends when Eastern Gouta was bombed with chemicals , at that night she described the humanitarian crime as a sweeping victory against black terrorism .

All of that did not prevent this woman from making the decision to leave Syria, a country that paid for her study and bear the burden of her legation’s salaries, which exceeded six million Syrian pounds.

Instead she preferred the country that announced more than once its support to the Syrian revolution, and even threatened to participate in an international military action to topple the ruler she has been defending for years.

Another supporter of al-Assad, from Jableh, who for a long time has been singing for Bashar, also applied for an asylum in France, despite being in addition to his family members in the national defense and participated alongside regime’s forces in their operations.

The man who refuses to return home , and prefers to stay in France away from the bloody scene in Syria, where "no safety for minorities ," has contradicted all he has said about the “minorities protector”, as if he is reading the present through a short- term memory that erased everything before, .

The 42 year old man hangs the regime’s flag in his room and when his son asks him “when are we going back to Syria?” he doesn’t answer the postponed pending question while expresses his hatred toward anti regime’s demonstrations .

There is no existence to Bashar’s picture in his room, because Bashar for them is just a paper used when needed, to get their scholarship salaries, to communicate with the Syrian Embassy and have their right to return in a moment of anger from the hosted countries while all of this is forbidden to opponents.

Many pro-Assad supporters have reconsidered their interests and priorities due to the latest coast battles which made them scared of the post-Assad era.

It’s clear that supporters abroad have an intellectual dilemma , where they celebrate” Yabrood” fall in Qalamoon mountains, yet refuse to return to Syria clinging to the French soil and calming to be prosecuted minorities who are threatened to be beheaded sooner or later.

even the revolution paper is used in their interest wherever suitable to enhance their refuge in a state that fights regime‘s violations as France, because this France, and also this is who they are!
