Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are said to want two more children and are thinking of adopting a Syrian orphan from a refugee camp in Jordan.
Prolific humanitarian Angelina is said to have made the decision in Jordan last week, and hopes the high-profile adoption would help raise awareness of the current civil war crisis.
UNHCR Special Envoy Jolie met with refugees as they were arriving and listened to their stories of escape. She urged the international community to do more to help the survivors of the conflict and the countries hosting them. "The worst humanitarian crisis of the 21st century is unfolding in the Middle East today,” she said.
“The international response to this crisis falls short of the vast scale of this human tragedy. Much more humanitarian aid is needed, and above all, a political settlement to this conflict must be found.” Jolie Added.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Angie and Brad's attitude towards kids is the more the better - and that once you have several a few more makes no difference.
"She has been particularly touched by the situation in Syria and wants to adopt a child from Jordan to do her bit to help.
"The publicity would help draw the world's attention to what's going on there. The twins are now four and Angie and Brad have agreed it's time for more kids. They're crossing their fingers that they'll bring their next child home soon.
The A-list couple are allegedly hoping to expand their large brood - which includes Maddox, 11, Pax, nine, Zahara, eight, Shiloh, six, and four-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - by having one more biological child together as well as adopting an orphan from Jordan.
"She is friends with Queen Rania of Jordan, so that has got to help with adopting a child. But Angie and Brad also want to have one more biological child so she is eating a diet rich in potassium."
The 38-year-old actress recently had a double mastectomy after finding out she has an inherited genetic mutation that puts her at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and the life-changing operation has reportedly made her more focused on family than ever before.
The source added: "Angie and Brad are even more into their family after her recent health scare. It has focused them on what's important in life."
Brad, 49, and Angelina are no strangers to international adoption, having adopted Maddox from an orphanage in Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia, and Pax from Vietnam.
The war in Syria forced more people to flee last year than any other conflict in the world. In the past six months, the number has more than doubled to 1.6 million, of whom 540,000 are in Jordan. During her visit to Jordan, Ms. Jolie will join the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António Guterres, to meet with government officials and refugees.
