An official leaked document in this regard, the first of its kind, has shown the total number of vehicles and mechanisms related to regime’s ministry of interior, in addition to its monthly consumption of fuel and the number of damaged, destroyed or lost vehicles.
Within the large file of official documents obtained by Zaman Al Wasl, this document has revealed that the total number of ministry’s vehicles according to the vehicle management restrictions is /12.886/ twelve thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
The document which dated in March 2013 and submitted to the Minister of Interior, Major General Mohammed Al Shaar, explained that the number of mechanisms includes various types of cars, bikes , cranes , tanks and others, and estimated its monthly fuel consumption to over two million liters, in which gasoline share is nearly 1.6 million liters.
According to fuel prices in Syria nowadays, the gasoline bill allocated to the ministry vehicles exceeds 200 million pounds per month, or about 2.5 billion per year, in addition to nearly 36 million pounds monthly for (diesel oil), which is about 435 million pounds per year; and the total fuel expenses drained by the ministry from Syrians living reached 3 billion pounds annually.
The document pointed out to the “abundance” achieved in fuel consumption in all the ministry’s sectors, where gasoline consumption has been lowered from 26.4 million liters in 2011, to 18.8 million liters in 2012, and the decrease in diesel consumption from 15 million liters to 10.6 million liters within the same period, and it expected this decline to continue because large number of vehicles have been out of service and many police headquarters have stopped using heating fuel.
According to the document," the total numbers of mechanisms that are out of service due to the security situation and current events until 18/3/2013 are 1469 vehicles of various types”.
Al Raqqa governorate was excluded from the survey of damaged and lost vehicles, because the city has fallen in the hands of anti-Assad battalions in the time of issuing this document.
The document also mentioned a number of “observations “on gas stations affiliated with the Ministry of Interior in various parts of the country, indicating the amount of negligence and hypocrisy practiced in oil field, which makes it a broad door to corruption.
