Photos: Damascus streets float as regime shuts water exits over bombing concerns

 Photos circulated by social media activists showing floods in the Syrian capital streets were not a mere result of heavy rain, according to Zaman Alwasl sources.

Main streets of Damascus on Thursday were floating due to the shuttering of most 'regars' and water exits linked to sewage by Assad’s regime last April over security concerns since many bombing operation carried by by  rebels used the tunnels and underground sewage.

Zaman Alwasl published on April 26, news saying that all ‘regars’ were firmly shuttered to prevent any infiltration by rebels to strategic headquarters of Damascus.
