(Zaman Alwasl)- Sources refuted rumors saying that former Free Syrian Army leader had left north Syria to Arab Gulf after being ousted last February.
General Salim Idriss still a military man who works for Syrian revolution faithfully, source says.
All Sayings and news that Idriss will head an academic post in the United Arab Emirates is pure fabrication, the source added.
Before succumbing to his inevitable, Idriss lashed out
at the National Coalition which reportedly backed his replacement on February
by Brigadier General Abdul Ilah al-Bashir.
Former chairman of rebels Joint Chiefs of Staff had rejected his dismissal, saying the whole chain of command needed a "total restructuring" - highlighting deep divisions in the opposition. Syria's conflict, now in its fourth year, has killed more than 162,000 people, a third of them civilians, and caused millions to flee.
