(Zaman Al Wasl)- The Siege Language novel by Mohamed Wahbi hunts the bitter moments of the Syrian revolution in the early days.
The Syrian doctor blended fiction with true incidents that occurred during his work in the Military hospital of Homs as his story takes place in the Qalat al-Hosn region west of central Homs province.
Wahbi’s plot has inspired by the severe siege of Qalat al-Hosn and the residents suffering.
Wahbi plays his role as an eye-witness through revealing the atrocities of pro-regime militias. The novel has included real names of pro-Assad militias who committed war crimes and serial killing, he told Zaman al-Wasl.
The writer uncovered what was happening in the Syrian hospitals, especially the military ones, where thousands of people and detainees were stuffed in the morgues.
The novel sheds light on the suffering of Syrian medics who operate in the regime-run health facilities in the beginning of Syrian revolution. They treated wounded people.
The displaced people of Homs province take a place in the novel and how they flooded towards the Lebanese border despite difficulties and risks. He narrated the displaced's true stories.
The Syrian tragedy began nine years ago in Homs and Daraa before spreading throughout the country. Since then more than 400,000 pela have been killed and 13 million people have left their shattered homeland.
